Hi, I'm Kristen. 

I've been a major money geek for my entire life. Some people are never taught how to handle money, and others learn how to pinch their pennies from day one. Growing up, I was lucky enough to have great examples of both from each of my parents. 

In my early teen years, I actually wanted to be a Doctor. Then, I learned how many years of schooling were involved in becoming one, and I decided that the Doctor path wasn't for me. I also love sleep, so I'm pretty sure I would actually die if I had to keep that kind of schedule. 

After finishing high school, I attended the Business Administration program at Red Deer College (now Red Deer Polytechnic) and majored in Financial Services. As I was finishing my schooling, I was lucky enough to be hired on with ATB Financial as a practicum student. I spent the next 12 years of my working life here. I had the opportunity to wear many hats at ATB, from working on the front line, to opening bank accounts, and facilitating loans and mortgages. I also spent several years working in the ATB Support Centre, answering all of the questions and solving all of the problems of my colleages & business partners. That job was my absolute favourite. 

In 2018, I decided that I wanted to get back into doing mortgages. I didn't want crazy loan targets & everything that would come along with a position in a bank, so I decided to get my Mortgage License. The last 5 years have been an absolutely wild ride of ups and downs. I've had the opportunity to help so many first time home buyers and repeat buyers. I've been able to help people to free up cashflow and eliminate debt. I love walking my customers through the process, whether its buying their first home, their next home, or being able to stay in the home that they love, I'm glad that I get to do it.
