Fred is a professional educator with three decades of experience teaching business and co-operative education with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. He is a graduate of both Wilfrid Laurier University's Honours Bachelor of Business Administration program and Western University's Bachelor of Education program. In addition, he completed the Principal Qualification Program at the University of Toronto. He spent half his career in positions of added responsibility including Experiential Learning Consultant where he oversaw co-operative education programming for the entire Board. Additionally, he served as Program Head of Business & Co-operative Education at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School for over a decade where he taught senior financial accounting every semester. He served as Co-Chair for Resurrection's 25th Anniversary Celebrations and was the school's inaugural Phoenix Torch Bearers Award co-recipient in recognition of leading those celebrations. He performed Master of Ceremony duties at countless events at Resurrection, from Graduation Ceremonies to Academic Award Events to Year-End Award Assemblies. He was involved in many curriculum initiatives including being a writing team member for the "Education4Innovation" teacher resource and acting as validator for the WCDSB's Co-op & Experiential Learning Procedures Handbook. He is part of the Mortgage InGenuity Inc. team in Waterloo and is a licensed Mortgage Agent. Personal: Mr. Masters was an active ringette coach, having won National & multiple Provincial championships with various Kitchener Ringette teams. Having the opportunity to be part of Team Ontario at the Canada Winter Games was a definite highlight. He volunteers on Finance Committees at his parish and with his local teacher federation. He lives in Waterloo Region with his wife, Kathy Doherty-Masters, a retired professional educator and former Healthy Active Living Consultant with the WCDSB. The couple love to travel - Mr. Masters writes for www.whattravelwriterssay.com - and they are avid Olympic fans, having attended over 30 events at four Olympic Games (Athens, Beijing, Vancouver & London).
